Scrupulosity: a play about keeping your faith without losing your mind.

The first part of the trilogy, Scrupulosity, examines a young Andrew’s growing faith in God and growing belief that God wants him dead. It premiered at the 2005 Victoria Fringe Festival where it won Best Solo Show. Scrupulosity was selected for a number of remounts in Victoria including the “Post Fringe Showcase” at the Metro Studio; “Movie Monday: Saturday Night Theatre” at the Eric Martin Pavilion; and was also part of the inaugural “Atomic Vaudeville Sweatshop Festival.”

Limbo solves the meaning of life in the first minute, then unsolves it for the next 49.

In Limbo, the middle part of the trilogy, Andrew wakes up the morning after an aborted suicide attempt determined to find why God saved him from death and why God made him suffer to begin with. Limbo won the 2010 Vancouver Fringe Critic’s Choice award and was at the top of the Vancouver Courier’s list for “Best Plays of 2010”.

“[Putz] takes you on a gut laugh provoking journey of sexual enlightenment.”-Eye Weekly (Toronto)

Putz concludes the trilogy with Andrew going through therapy for a recently diagnosed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Ordered to date and be around people more, Andrew discovers that life after God has its pluses. Putz was co-winner of Best Fringe Show of the 2008 by The Vancouver Courier and was the highest rated show in the Georgia Straight and the Globe and Mail. The show was selected to play at the “Beyond the Fringe” festival at the Shadbolt Centre in Burnaby and “Best of the Fringe” at the Kay Meek Centre and the Jericho Arts Centre in Vancouver.

“Confessional monologist Andrew Bailey continues to explore the comic goldmine of his obsessive-compulsive disorder…” -The Georgia Straight
