Rudolph gets their groove back!!
Atomic Vaudeville gives Victoria a zany epilogue to the classic story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer with their new Pantomime for all ages!
In classic Pantomime tradition, the show takes a well-known tale and spins it in a
wild, contemporary direction. Rudolph is down in the dumps. The shine is gone from
their nose, Santa has left on a fitness retreat, and Princess Gwyneth is getting ready
to make the whole world beige with her Gloop Machine. A cryptic message from
Santa sends Rudolph on a quest to find The Greatest Gift, the only thing that can
save Christmas from becoming eternally beige and gloopy. Pop music, cultural
references, and painless audience participation make Pantomime the perfect family
holiday entertainment. (For those terrified of being pulled up on stage, have no
worries! All you’ll be asked to do is cheer for the hero and boo the villain!)
With Atomic Vaudeville’s success in making grown-ups laugh hysterically at every
instalment of their Cabaret Series, and the talent to produce top-quality musical
theatre that brings in loyal audiences every year, it only makes sense that we write a
brand-new musical pantomime that contains everything audiences love about AV’s
shows; zany humour, ridiculously talented local performers, and all-new musical
numbers alongside spoofs of favourite pop hits. All of the Vaudeville fun audiences
have come to know and love, with none of the f-bombs!
In an effort to make our theatre accessible to all audiences, including young families,
we took a relaxed approach to noise and movement in the audience and
have a space in the lobby for anyone who needs to take a break from the
performance. We also present “pay what you can” shows so that this treat can be experienced by all
audiences, regardless of their financial situation.
We hope that this Pantomime will become a Christmas tradition in
Victoria, an event where everyone is welcome and our community can share a laugh
as they experience musical mayhem, zany characters, and a heartwarming tale.
