Danica Boyce

Danica Boyce is a podcaster, a comedian, and a medievalist. She has a masters in medieval studies and produces a podcast about folk music and folk culture called Fair Folk.

Meg Braem

Meg is a Alberta based playwright. Her plays have been nominated for a Governors General’s Literary Award and won the Alberta Literary Award for Drama, the Alberta Playwriting Competition and Playwright Theatre Centre's “The News Competition.” Her work has been presented at the Citadel Theatre, Theatre Calgary, Lunchbox Theatre, The Belfry Theatre, Sage Theatre, Sparrow and Finch Theatre, Theatre Transit, Atomic Vaudeville, and Intrepid Theatre. Meg is a past playwright-in-residence at Workshop West Playwrights' Theatre and member of the Citadel Playwrights Forum. Most recently Meg premiered Flight Risk in at Lunchbox Theatre and her play The Josephine Knot was published by Playwrights Canada Press. Meg is co-author of Amplify: Graphic Narratives of Feminist Resistance (University of Toronto Press, 2019) with Norah Bowman and Dominique Hui. Meg splits her time between Calgary and Edmonton as the director of the Alberta Theatre Projects Playwrights' unit and the Lee Playwright-in-Residence at the University of Alberta.

Karen Brelsford

Karen Brelsford is an actor in San Francisco, LA and Canada’s Film, TV, and Theatre industries.  She has been performing improv and sketch comedy for over 17 years.  Karen joined Atomic Vaudeville in 2005 and it changed her life forever. Seriously, she ditched a career in science and moved to NY to pursue acting. You may know her best as “Kitty the Cougar”!

Kjell Cawsey

Kjell performed in her first AV cabaret in 2007, and then sang and danced her way through many more until around 2011. She earned a theatre degree from York University in Toronto, where she continues to live and work.

Morgan Cranny

Morgan has been with AV since January 2006 (Redneck Revival) and has performed in over 50 cabarets! He is an actor, comedian, improviser and producer who's always up to something.  He has written/co-written and/or performed and toured several successful Fringe shows including Vasily Djokavich Russia's #1 State Approved Comedian, World's Greatest Dad*, War of 1812 and Circus Fire. He produces the very popular weekly comedy show, Phillips Comedy Night at the Mint (phillipscomedynight.com). He's a member of Sin City the Live Completely Improvised Serial and has performed with many local theatre companies including Launch Pad Theatre, Theatre Inconnu, Langham Court Theatre and Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre. When not performing Morgan makes science for the federal government. 

"One of my favorite AV memories is when a bunch of regulars came to the AV halloween show dressed up as their favorite characters including Steph Coombs (former TC editor) as Bollywood Batman."

Victor Dolhai

Victor is proud to have been an ensemble member of Atomic Vaudeville since it's inception in 2004, and has performed in over 20 cabarets. He continues to be active in theatre nationwide, with an increasing presence in film, TV, and voiceover. 

Chris Gabel

Chris Gabel is a ten year veteran of Atomic Vaudeville and is currently performing with Paper Street Theatre.

"My favorite memory was from one of my first shows, when I thought it would be a good idea to ad lib a line with Mike Delamont."

Kelly Hobson

Since 2011, Kelly Hobson has been choreographing for the AV Cabaret and a proud sketchkateer. Other AV credits include, The Super Secret Girls Club and Action Review.

Kelly is the Artistic Director of The Victoria School of Contemporary Dance and founder/A.D. of DANCE BERSERKER DANCE.

 

Currently Kelly is creating a full length contemporary dance show. "All Happy Families" debuts at The Metro May 4th 2018.

Jeff Insell

Jeff is an actor, musician, vocalist and composer from Toronto. Theatre credits include; Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, as Willy Wonka (Iglesia Productions) and Evil Dead The Musical, as Scott (Iglesia Productions), Ron's Ship of Friendship, Ensemble (Atomic Vaudeville, SummerWorks).

Elliott Loran

Award winning Actor/Composer Elliott Loran is thrilled to be back on home turf, reunited with Atomic Vaudeville- the company that launched his career with his performance as Ricky Potts in Ride the Cyclone (Toronto Theatre Critics Award & Broadway World Award for Best Supporting Actor). Notable credits include Alice Through the Looking Glass (Stratford Festival), Jerry Lee Lewis in Million Dollar Quartet (Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, The Globe, Western Canada Theatre), Glorious! (Chemainus Theatre Festival), Space Hippo, Shadow Kingdom (Composer- Mochinosha).

Christian Martin

Christian Martin studied acting at Lee Strasberg studio and with Robert Modica (Misener) in NYC. Christian is very proud to have been a part of Atomic Vaudeville’s early days from the quick changes in cramped dressing rooms to casually walking completely naked from the bathroom, across the stage to said dressing rooms to a stunned and hushed audience. His fondest memory is playing ‘Who’s on First’ with the beautiful late Tim Sutherland. Christian's other plays include Beat the Sunset, Filthy Rich, The Enemy, and Zastrozzi to name a few. Christian is back in Victoria after a 15 year stint in NYC. Oh he and Britt were roommates way back in the day as he watched Britt come up with crazy theatre ideas that eventually turned into Atomic Vaudville. Beautiful. 

Matt McLaren

Former Editor-in-Chief of Showbill Canada, Matt McLaren was born and raised in Victoria, BC. For over two decades, he's had close ties to the theatre community, collaborating with Theatre Inconnu, Langham Court, Theatre Skam, Blue Bridge and Atomic Vaudeville. A Graduate of UVic's Theatre Program, he made his professional directing debut in 2016 with a production of Mark Harmon's Bad Jews (Theatre Inconnu) Langham Court, Ontario, Matt's had the pleasure of working with Summer Works and The InspiraTo Festival staging new work. 2018 brought Matt back to Victoria to direct Ariel Bronz's The Tenant Haymovitch at Theatre Inconnu.

Emilee Nimetz

Emilee Nimetz is a spoken word poet, performance artist, playwright, actor, choreographer, poetry workshop facilitator, dance instructor, singer of stage and of shower (but never both at once) and has a ukulele named Maude. She studied Musical Theatre at Sheridan College and she also attended The Banff Centre as part of the Spoken Word Residency. As a poet, she has performed across Canada and the US as has been featured on Button Poetry and Best of Button. She is the current writer-in-residence for the Dora Award Winning Bad Hats Theatre Company in Toronto. Some of Emilee's favourite past theatre credits include Penelope Pennywise in Urinetown (Langham Court), Judas in Godspell (Tweed & Co.), and Sally Bowles in Cabaret (Theatre Sheridan). Emilee made her Atomic Vaudeville debut in the fall of 2017 in The Rocky Horror Show and is thrilled to join the ranks of past and present Vaudevillians in the Cabaret!

Jeff Poynter

Jeff Poynter is a multi-instrumentalist based in Victoria, BC. Jeff performs regularly with the popular indie-folk group West My Friend as well as with burlesque performer Rosie Bitts and the gypsy-jazz quartet Hot Club of Canada. His first Atomic Vaudeville performance was Rocky Horror 2017 and he's never looked back!

Paul Shortt

Paul first fell in love with Atomic Vaudeville after watching Cabaret Ep. #42: "Skeletor Presents: Sisters are doing it for themselves", and then failed to miss an episode up until he was able to join the cast in Ep. #60: "L'Empereur n'as pas de Pénis". His top memories in the Cabaret include when someone in the cast almost slapped his newborn baby out of his hands after mistaking him for a prop, that time that Ryan Bangma accidentally gave him a black-eye just before the show, and when he was first able to explore making shadow puppets for the stage.

Paul is the producer and host of The Showdown at the Victoria Event Centre, and has recently been seen in AV's "Laissez Misérables", Theatrue Inconnu's "Tenant Haymovitch", and Theatre SKAM's "Grownups Perform Plays That Kids Wrote".

Britt Small

Britt studied at LaMama's Director's Intensive in Italy and has trained in various physical theatre forms. She completed her MFA in Directing at the University of Victoria with a production of Sophocles' Electra. Britt has directed Janet Munsil's Circus Fire and The Ugly Duchess, Jacob Richmond's The Qualities of Zero, Ride the Cyclone and Legoland, The Fantasticks and True West for BBRT, A Midsummer Night's Dream for the GVSF, Castle in the Sky for Castlereigh, The Rocky Horror Show and Firebugs at the William Head prison. Her work as a director has received several national awards as well as 9 Jessie nominations for My Chernobyl at the Gateway and the Belfry.

Jen Wilcox

Jen has worn many hats with Atomic Vaudeville including running tech, writing and performing. She is most recognizable for her terrifically filthy and awkward fan-fiction, including the one-paragraph gay Star Trek: The Next Generation fic she wrote when she was 12 years old.
